Reason for Watching True Blood...or not PDF Print E-mail

I'm sure there are many reasons people have for watching True Blood...and for not watching.  One reason for my watching True Blood is, I like to start new shows when they look interesting.  Now we will see if it keeps my attention...thats the real test.  So far I am going to keep watching.

The opening credit sequence
Talk about setting the mood! Cable shows always have great credit sequences, and True Blood has one of the best. Like something out of Natural Born Killers, True Blood starts with grainy footage of burlesque dancers, decaying foxes, civil rights scenes, swampland, and baptisms--all to the tune of Jace Everett's wicked "Bad Things."

I never watch a series because of the opening credits...I need more than that.  This article gives reasons for watching or not watching True Blood, but not all of them are why I would watch a show.  I watch a show with good content and if it entertains me.

Give me some reasons you might watch True Blood.

Hottest Male Vamps Ever
Just started watching True Blood this summer and love it. Went back and caught all the old episodes on demand before this season started. But the intro literally makes me queasy. Can't explain it. But i think that's the intended effect.

Over at my website, bradmouth.com, I listed the top ten hottest male vampires of all time. True Blood Fans will be happy after reading both articles.

My reasons for watching...
Isn't that what EVERYBODY does? Watches a show for "good content" and because they find it entertaining? I started watching the show because the premise intrigued me, because I was such a fan of Alan Ball and Six Feet Under and because I like Anna Paquin and because it's on HBO. All of those factors motivated me to believe that this would be a success and so far, it is! I thought episode 3 was a little disappointing compare with Episodes 1 and 2, but entertaining none the less. It went off on a lot of different tangents, but I think that the show has to for early character development.
