For all of you out there looking forward to the upcoming True Blood, I hope there is no dissappointment. Some are saying this...
Tonally, the pilot was all over the place: a sex-fueled drama, off-kilter comedy, and a serious exploration of class warfare in small-town Americana after the storm. Then you throw in telepathy, vampires, and murder--not to mention some seriously cheesy special effects (they make the vampire transformation in Buffy look like the work of CGI geniuses)--and what you're left with is a bit of a muddle.
Personally I think this guys is going a little overboard...but watch the first episode for yourself coming unofficially in Sept. of 2008.

Anna Paquin, lead in the new HBO series True Blood was caught drinking some slim fast. Is she on a diet to slim down for her new role?
Personally I don't think she's on a diet. People drink SlimFast sometimes for quick meals and that is all. She only looks like she's smaller because her dress isn't form fitting. And to compare it to a pic from a year ago instead of a more recent picture from last month is ridiculous.
I'm sorry, but who drinks that crap for a quick meal that isn't on a diet? I would think she would have a power bar or some fruit for a quick snack...not slim fast. And yeah...your not going to see if she lost a lot of weight from a month ago.
Sookie comes across as very innocent and naive. Then she risks her life for a vampire she just met. Is this bravery or just plain stupididy...I guess time will only tell. I've decided not to make a decision until i have seen more episodes. Who is this vampire anyway...whoever heard of a vampire named Bill? What are the vampires like...will they turn on you at every turn, or are some of them as nice as Bill seems to be? I wonder if Bill will turn on her, but I don't really think so.

There have been many mixed reviews of the new series True Blood. I have seen it and want to see more for now...
I'm not sure this series will last long. The first episode didn't really explain too much, you pretty much had to figure out what was going on, and how they came to this situation where vampires walk around with humans.
I think this series has a lot of potential. If you are patient and watch, i'm sure they will explain all with time. Not all shows tell all in the first episode.
Anna Paquin … Sookie Stackhouse Interesting main character. Anna did a good job. I wish she didn’t have to go blonde though. But at least she’s not annoying as Buffy summers.
I would agree that Anna did a good job at playing Sookie...She is definitely not as annoying a Buffy. She was kind of quiet, but her friend, Tare sure did have an attidue. I don't know what to think about her yet...Tara could be the annoying one of the show.
Sam Trammell … Sam Merlotte Sookie’s human love interest? I don’t really care for him. I hope there won’t be a Sookie/Bill/Sam triangle X_X.
I doubt there will be a love triangle, but Sam will always be worried about her no matter what happens.
There is talk of a new show no HBO called True Blood. Its been compared to Buffy, but I don't think there is any real comparison. Sookie is a sweet southen girl from Louisana. Vampires have "come out of the coffin" and are now co-existing with humans by drinking a synthetic blood called 'true blood'. Anna Paquin will play the main role as Sookie Stackhouse who ends up falling for the vampire, Bill Compton. True Blood is set to air sometime in September.
